On the evening of September 22nd, 2023, Dallas was transported back in time to the early 2000s as the Toyota Music Factory played host to the 'Away From The Sun' Anniversary Tour by 3 Doors Down. The night was filled with nostalgia, passionate performances, and a packed house that sang their hearts out from the front row to the back of the lawn. Alongside the main act, special guest CANDLEBOX added an extra layer of excitement to an already electrifying evening; the crowd welcomed them with open arms, making it a night of unforgettable performances. As the lights dimmed and the crowd roared, the anticipation was palpable. The iconic band, consisting of lead singer Brad Arnold, lead guitarist Matt Roberts,
rhythm guitarist Chris Henderson, bassist Justin Biltonen, and drummer Greg Upchurch, took the stage to thunderous applause. The energy was infectious, and the audience couldn't help but sing along at the top of their lungs. The band delivered a setlist throughout the night that spanned their impressive career. Songs like Here Without You and When I'm Gone tugged at heartstrings, evoking memories of years gone by. The musicianship on display was top-notch, with Matt Roberts' electrifying guitar solos and Greg Upchurch's thunderous drumming driving the crowd wild. The chemistry among the band members was evident as they interacted with the audience, sharing stories and making everyone feel like a part of the 3 Doors Down family. As the night ended, 3 Doors Down left the stage after an encore that had the audience craving more. The final notes of "Kryptonite" hung in the air, leaving us with a sense of nostalgia and a renewed appreciation for the timeless music of this iconic band. The 'Away From The Sun' Anniversary Tour by 3 Doors Down was a great musical experience. The band's ability to connect with their audience and deliver robust, heartfelt performances reaffirmed their status as rock legends.
